I was introduced to Rabine Paving when I was a Manager of Materials and Logistics for ComEd and needed to improve our gravel storage yard for large equipment and materials. Gary Rabine came up with an innovative and cost effective solution to our problem and executed the plan perfectly.

When I relocated to Exelon Nuclear Generating Station in Byron, Illinois, my role was to oversee and manage various aspects of the plants maintenance program, eventually becoming the Maintenance Programs Manager. In my 35 years of leadership at Exelon Corporation, I had the opportunity to work with The Rabine Group of Companies on several different projects.

When it comes to expertise in exterior facilities engineering, construction and maintenance Rabine was the best. An example of excellence that we appreciated was their ability to do consulting and budgeting that provided my facilities and finance team with clarity in expectations along with the expected spend for our severely neglected blacktop. Another value was their strong knowledge of all Pavements and Pavement design, from engineering, construction and maintenance of Concrete and Asphalt Pavements to Stormwater and Roofing they always made our lives easier. Rabine Paving America milled, paved, and striped several hundred thousand square feet of black top with minimal impact to our facility operations. They were also called upon to replace several roof sections at the power plant, which they executed with minimal impact to our daily operations and no safety incidents.

At our Nuclear Facility, safety was always a focal point and the Rabine Group Companies has always kept safety top of mind, during all their work at Byron Station, I can’t recall even a First Aid for Rabine Employee.
